Vancouver Gulf Islands
We offer furniture moving service from Vancouver to the Gulf Islands, including:
- Mayne Island
- Pender Island
- Saturna island
- Galiano Island
- Gabriola Island
- Thetis Island
As a first step we will usually schedule an on site quotation, where we introduce our company, offer a firm written quote (which includes all ferry charges), and propose a detailed game plan on how to carry out your move.
We have found over the years that a timeline of loading one day, and delivering on the first sailing the next morning usually works best to keep the stress level down.
Many delivery and work trucks going to the Gulf Islands sail on the first morning sailing, and hence there is often limited space on the lower (commercial) level of the ferry, so at the time of booking in your move we will immediately make a reservation for your preferred delivery date. Reservations are especially important on Fridays, Sundays, and holidays.
Fun Fact: the Salish Raven can often be found providing service between Vancouver (Tsawwassen) and the Southern Gulf Islands. Along with sister ships Salish Eagle, Salish Orca and Salish Raven, they are the first dual fuel ferries in the BC Ferries fleet, able to use either diesel or liquefied natural gas as a fuel, reducing air emissions. Built in 2020 by Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A, in Gdansk, Poland, the Salish Heron has a capacity for 138 vehicles and 600 passengers and crew.
Smaller load moving to Gulf Islands or back to Vancouver??? If you are able to be somewhat flexible on dates, we are often able to offer a “shared load” rate and proportionally share the ferry and travel charges.
