As a first step we will usually schedule an on site quotation, where we introduce our company, offer a firm written quote (which includes all ferry charges), and propose a detailed game plan on how to carry out your move.

We have found over the years that a timeline of loading one day, and delivering on the first sailing going over the next morning works best to keep the stress level down, and allow our truck and crew to get back that night.

Many delivery and work trucks going to Saltspring sail on the first morning sailing, and hence there is often limited space on the lower (commercial) level of the ferry, so at the time of booking in your move we will immediately make a reservation for your preferred delivery date.  Reservations are especially important on Fridays, Sundays, and holidays.

Fun Fact: the Skeena Queen was custom built by Allied Shipbuilders in North Vancouver in 1997 specifically for the short 35 minute commuter run between Salt Spring Island (Fulford Harbour) and Victoria (Swartz Bay), where most passengers stay in their vehicles.  Hence, the Skeena Queen was intentionally designed with very little passenger cabin space. Skeena Queen is able to transport 450 passengers and crew, and 92 vehicles.

Smaller load moving to Saltspring or back to Vancouver??? If you are able to be somewhat flexible on dates, we are often able to offer a “shared load” rate and proportionally share the ferry and travel charges.
